I’ve got this feeling…that 2010 is going to be a FABULOUS year for decor! The latest trend is for simple, yet modern chic and luxe (on a budget of course!). Rich colours and bling bling and feathers. It’s a fabulous bride’s dream come true.

As the official wedding season ended, my thoughts of course turn to how we can better help our brides for next year. I came up with this list and it goes a little something like this:

4. If you have a crazy colour like periwinkle at dawn (what the heck is periwinkle??? really????) tell her you want to make her life easier and go with a neutral colour like white or ivory that will compliment the colour you found from a paint swatch you found @ some designer paint boutique in San Diego where your Fiance proposed to you and can’t even find BM dresses to match but you somehow expect the decorator to find this magical colour somehow …..I’m just sayin’…..

Lately I’ve been receiving a number of brides who have come to me after dealing with what I call “bootleg” decorators. The ones who promise the world, but then come up so short on their wedding day, it’s really kinda sad. Here are some questions you should really ask your decorator

Simply The Best!

Congratulations Flour Confections!!!

I’m proud to add to Lisa’s thunder. I received notification that I had been selected for the Wedding Wire Award in the Consultant Category and our very own decorator extraordinaire, Vivian from Vivian’s Décor & Design, has been as well!

You know you’re reading a blog with the very best of vendors when you see this happening. It also goes to reiterate when your time is finished with a vendor,

Oh the colours! There are whole websites dedicated to wedding colours alone! This very VERY important decision could make or break your wedding! (okay, kinda, not really, but doesn’t sound dramatic and really important?!)…

Many many thanks to Mirella at .: Rainflower Company :. for the fabulous interview she’s put up of me on her blog! I was honoured to be asked and all excited to see it go live! Please take a gander over

I have been a very, very bad blogger. Please forgive me. But it’s all for a good reasons! 2009 is shaping up to be a very busy year for decor and we’ve got a bunch of things on the go and they’re all good news for all fabulous brides!

When you start planning your wedding, most brides have a pretty good idea of what they think their wedding should look like. This is perfectly normal. But then that very very bad evil EEEEEVIL budget gets in the way of your totally awesome day. Stupid budgets…

Believe it or not, chocolate can be your worst enemy. Okay, maybe not yours, but it can certainly be a decorator’s not-so-welcome-buddy. Chocolate not being a decorator’s BFF can mean $$$$ for your wallet (you know, the one you were going to buy yourself at the Coach outlet in Buffalo as a “IMGETTINGMARRIED!!!!!” gift…

ah…the case of the rich bride/poor bride. As a wedding decorator, I see this happen to a lot of brides.

She gets engaged and heads straight to The Knot, full of ideas, champagne dreams and caviar expectations.

But then the little things that she’s been buying on etsy and ebay that only cost $XX start adding up and next thing you know – BLAM. Budget blown because of blinged out “Future MRS.” accessories – panties, hoodie, velour suit , matching towel set, iphone jewel case, gym bag, slippers, robe and on and on and on.

Seemed like a good idea…. at the time.
